Even More Support For Local Radio Freedom Act

WASHINGTON — July 16, 2009: Support continues to grow for the Local Radio Freedom Act, a resolution opposing performance royalties for broadcast radio. The resolution is in opposition to the Performance Rights Act, which would force radio to pay the royalties for the first time. House Committee Rejects Fairness Doctrine Ban

WASHINGTON — July 15, 2009: Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) says he is “profoundly disappointed” by the House Rules Committee’s vote against the Broadcaster Freedom Amendment. The bill, which would have blocked the FCC from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine or enacting proposed localism regulations for the next fiscal year, was introduced as an amendment to the Financial Services Appropriations Bill by Pence and Rep.
