PURPOSE

The purpose of the San Diego EAR Awards is to recognize and celebrate the effective use of the Radio medium. The awards are designed to reinforce and stimulate the frequent use of effective creative on the radio.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

Any radio advertiser that aired on a San Diego radio station and had their writing or production done locally (private/production house/station/agency). National advertisers, with commercials written and produced outside of San Diego, are not eligible.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Candidates will be evaluated on the following criteria in order of importance:

  • Primary: Effectiveness of campaign (measurable results).
  • Secondary: Creative, writing and production values.

NOMINATION/SELECTION PROCESS

Any client, agency, or radio station employee may nominate themselves or an advertiser for an EAR Award. The EAR Award committee will compile all candidates and select winners. The EAR Award committee is composed of radio station sales managers, account reps and producers or writers from a variety of San Diego stations. The SDRBA reserves the right to use entries that have been judged winners for promotional and educational purposes.

AWARDS

Recipients will receive a crystal EAR Award. Agencies and station personnel are also eligible.

TIME PERIOD

Nominees for the 2010 Ear Awards must have aired the nominated spot for the time period between January 1st & December 31st, 2009.
